Since 1998, the Schools and Libraries Division (SLD) of the Federal Communications Commission has distributed over $2 billion annually to schools and libraries to help connect them to the Internet.  From telecommunications equipment and services to ISP fees to network hardware and wiring, schools and libraries have been able to realize up to 90% discounts on these products and services.
